feminism & politics

about my beliefs...

i am a leftist and radical feminist; i also believe in the structures of intersectionality and being politically and gender critical to some degree (although it is a complex ideology so i’d advise you to not make assumptions). i have very strongly held progressive beliefs, however, i am also trying to be extremely realistic about my approach to certain concepts and am always learning more about the world. i [try] my very best to be unbiased.

this blog exists to share you into my evergrowing ideology about the world, my opinion on certain feminist talking points and the way that my experiences have shaped my beliefs (the 'what' and the 'why'). i also want to provide reputable statistics and resources for women to hopefully build and broaden their perspective a little more.

false SA accusations

"what are your opinions about women falsely accusing men of rape? do you believe there should be consequences for getting someone wrongly imprisoned?"

men seem to be enamoured with the idea of false accusations and being falsely accused because they are also obssessed with the idea that women lie about sexual assault. i truly believe men who bring up false allegations all the time unprompted or in response to women’s assault do sketchy shit in bed and hurt women before. these same men think the only type of rape is brute force. corersion is sexual assault. so is guilt tripping, threatening, asking until they give in; that is all sexual assault. before or during if the person you’re with tenses up, goes silent, is very clearly not having a good time and you keep going or don’t stop to check in on them, that is SA. lying about something to make that person want to sleep with you. withholding information that would make that person not want to sleep with you. that is SA. the claim that incels and mens rights activists make that women can just lie about rape and ruin a mans life and throw him in jail if they dont like him is just nonsense and irrational. this fear or belief they have of being falsely accused is just guilty conscience. we live in a world where a woman could have a mountain of evidence against a man and still no one would believe her.
  • studies from both multiple universities & the FBI show the number of false sexual assault reports at 2% to 8%. this is only coming from the amount of women that report their rape or SA
  • 95% of women do not report. taking that variable into account, the percentage of falsely reported SA is closer to 0.1%
  • if a rape is reported there is a 50.8% chance of an arrest.
  • even of the attacks that are reported, there is only a 16.3% chance that the rapist will end up in prison.
  • 15 of 16 rapists walk free
  • as a man you are x230 times more likely to be raped by another man than to be ever falsely accused of rape by a woman
this huge fear and talking point men love to bring up about being falsely accused statistically is a non-issue. and the thing is i know false accusations happen its there in the statistics they do happen but they are not life ruining, theyre not going to get you thrown in jail
so to answer the question i think women who lie about SA are unbelievably cruel yeah they should get fined or jailed or something, but i would like for men who are constantly bringing up false allegations to distract from when women are talking about things that have actually happened to us or are very valid fear for things that are extremely likely to happen to us to take a look in the fucking mirror and leave women alone
